A signed giclée by Kamran Khavarani (Iranian-American, b. 1941), the architect and painter credited by UCLA art historian Albert Boime as the founder of "Abstract Romanticism." Trained in the classical tradition and later transformed by the mystical poetry of the thirteenth-century Persian poet Rumi, Khavarani developed a lyrical abstract idiom of sweeping, luminous color. His work has been recognized by the Library of Congress and noted in the Congressional Record. This composition swirls with feathered, windswept strokes of magenta, violet, and sapphire blue, opening at the center to a soft glow of pastel green, yellow, and rose. The energetic, fan-like movement of the brushwork suggests wind, water, or blossoming growth caught mid-motion, dissolving the boundary between landscape and pure abstraction in the immersive, romantic manner that defines the artist's work. Signed in gold script at the lower right. A vivid, energetic work by a recognized contemporary artist, well suited to a collector of abstract art or a contemporary interior. 30 x 21"
