Status: Sold
A signed archival giclée by Kamran Khavarani (Iranian-American, b. 1941), the architect and painter credited by UCLA art historian Albert Boime as the founder of "Abstract Romanticism." Trained in the classical tradition and later transformed by the mystical poetry of the thirteenth-century Persian poet Rumi, Khavarani developed a lyrical abstract idiom of sweeping, luminous color. His work has been recognized by the Library of Congress and noted in the Congressional Record. Titled "Abstract Series," this composition evokes a tranquil marsh or shoreline at the edge of abstraction — luminous turquoise water stretches beneath a sky of deep cobalt and teal, with reeds and grasses rendered in fluid strokes of emerald and gold along the bank. A soft glow at the center suggests light breaking across the water, lending the scene the contemplative, atmospheric stillness that defines the artist's romantic vision. Signed in gold script at the lower right. The piece is an archival glossy giclée mounted on acid-free foamboard (image approximately 20 x 29"), beautifully presented in a custom frame with mat under glass, framed dimensions 35 x 27". It is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist, confirming authorship and reproduction rights. A serene, richly colored work by a recognized contemporary artist, accompanied by signed documentation — well suited to a collector of abstract art or a contemporary interior. 35 x 27" framed
