Status: No sale

A distinguished example of mid-century Swedish art glass, this exceptional vase by the celebrated Strömbergshyttan glassworks bears its original label and showcases the understated, poetic artistry for which Swedish studio glass is world-renowned. The substantial rectangular form with softly rounded corners is rendered in clear crystal suffused with a delicate blush rose tone — a signature colorway beloved by collectors of Scandinavian glass. The piece carries remarkable visual weight and the exceptional clarity characteristic of the finest Swedish crystal. The showpiece of this vase is its breathtaking intaglio-etched scenic panel — a masterfully executed composition depicting soaring seagulls in flight against an atmospheric sky, rendered with the precision and depth of a fine engraving. The matte etched imagery glows luminously against the polished crystal ground, creating a painterly, dimensional effect of remarkable sophistication.
