Status: No sale

A refined group of three glazed porcelain figural ornaments, comprising a Danish Bing & Grøndahl/Royal Copenhagen figure of a young girl cradling a doll (pattern number 1721) and two Spanish Lladró-style figures, all in a cool, minimalist palette. The Danish figure, modeled in the quiet Naturalist manner associated with mid-century Scandinavian taste, is finished in white glaze with delicate underglaze decoration—an allover sprigged dress, bonnet with scrolling motif, and a tenderly held infant. The underside bears the three-tower Copenhagen mark with “Made in Denmark” and the painted pattern number, consistent with Bing & Grøndahl production later absorbed into Royal Copenhagen. The Spanish figures present the elongated, softly stylized proportions typical of Lladró’s late-20th-century devotional genre: one figure holds a shallow dish with a candle-form element, the other supports a fish, each rendered with glossy white surfaces and restrained pastel accents. Collectively, the group offers a cohesive study in European porcelain figuration, balancing Danish restraint with Spanish sentiment. An expanded description: The trio reads effectively as a small cabinet ensemble—three standing silhouettes with gently bowed heads and simplified facial modeling, emphasizing serenity and narrative gesture over intricate ornament. The B&G figure’s underglaze-painted botanicals and crisp bonnet edges highlight traditional Scandinavian hand-finishing, while the Spanish examples rely on sculptural flow, pooled glaze highlights, and subtle color blocking at the hands and hems. All three are finished with vented bases typical of kiln-fired hollow porcelain. Size: 8" Bid per piece, final bid x 3
