#7253 • $3,800 Maitland-Smith Round Faux-Marble Inset Console Table with Brass Pierced Gallery, 32"

Part of Historic Manor Downsizing Auction (timed auction by Prime Auction Solutions)

Status: Sold

A Maitland-Smith neoclassical-style round console table, hand made in the Philippines, distinguished by its stone-simulant inset top and gilt-metal detailing. The circular surface presents a convincingly mottled, “specimen” marble effect in deep charcoal and ochre veining, set within a broad, warm-toned wood surround and encircled by a pierced brass gallery rail, lending the piece the character of a serving tray while visually finishing the perimeter. The table is raised on slender, turned and fluted legs accented with foliate appliqués and parcel-gilt collars, joined below by an elegant curvilinear stretcher system that radiates to a central, tapered finial. The combination of classical vocabulary—fluting, leaf ornament, and gallery work—with Maitland-Smith’s signature decorative finishes reflects the firm’s reputation for sculptural, statement furnishings produced by skilled workshop labor. Maker’s label to underside: “MAITLAND-SMITH / HAND MADE IN PHILIPPINES.” Size: 39" x 39" x 32"
