#7242 • Neo-Classical / Baroque Revival Style Carved Wood Console or Sofa Table with Iron Scrollwork Stretcher, 36"

Part of Historic Manor Downsizing Auction (timed auction by Prime Auction Solutions)

Status: Sold

A traditional carved wood console (or sofa) table in neo-classical/baroque revival taste, featuring a rectangular top with a tooled, leather-like surface and gilt-highlighted border ornament, over a single frieze drawer framed by beaded molding and centered by an applied acanthus-and-scroll cartouche. The case is edged with rope-twist molding and set with small rosette or foliate corner blocks, reinforcing the architectural façade. The table stands on bold, S-scrolled supports with applied acanthus leaves and parcel-gilt accents, joined by a pierced wrought-iron stretcher of symmetrical C-scrolls and vinework, centered by a crown-form pendant. A full-length lower shelf provides additional utility while visually grounding the form. The mix of carved ornament, warm stained finish, and decorative ironwork aligns with French and Italian-inspired revival furnishings designed for entry halls and behind-the-sofa placement. Size: 45" x 19" x 36"
