Hand-knotted area rug in 100% wool. Turkistan-inspired tree-of-life design on an ivory field. Rose-brick border with star medallions and diamond-chain guard border. While rooted in the Central Asian weaving tradition, this piece departs from the typical geometric gul patterns of Turkistan in favor of a striking tree-of-life composition — one of the oldest and most symbolically rich motifs in textile art, representing paradise, renewal, and the connection between the earthly and the divine. Bold, stylized tree forms rise from the luminous ivory ground, their branches spreading into dramatic floral heads and sweeping leaves in deep navy, dark green, gold, and burgundy. The open ivory field gives the composition a spacious, almost contemporary feel, while the boldness of the botanical forms keeps the design grounded in centuries of tradition — a balance that makes this piece exceptionally versatile in modern interiors. The wide rose-brick border features oversized star medallions and botanical vignettes, while a distinctive diamond-chain guard border in cream and olive adds graphic precision to the edges. The wool pile has a slightly rustic, textured quality consistent with hand-spun yarn, where natural variations add character and visual depth that machine-made rugs cannot replicate. A rug of this scale represents approximately 12 to 18 months of continuous hand-knotting. The back clearly shows the articulation of the design, confirming genuine hand-knotted construction. Perfectly sized for a large living room, open-plan dining space, or grand sitting room. Measures 8'3" x 10'1".
