An impressive and substantial five-door display cabinet in the French Empire taste, masterfully crafted in rich mahogany with gilt bronze ornamentation. The architectural form features a projecting cornice with egg-and-dart gilt bronze banding beneath a stepped crown, the frieze adorned with Classical acanthus leaf corner mounts in gilt bronze. The upper section comprises five glazed doors with beveled glass panels, each divided by fluted mahogany pilasters. The central three doors open to reveal a mirrored back interior with adjustable glass display shelves and interior lighting, ideal for displaying fine porcelain, crystal, or collectibles. The flanking side sections each feature a single glazed door with matching glass shelving. The lower register presents five conforming paneled cabinet doors with figured mahogany veneers set within molded frames, providing generous enclosed storage. A row of five drawers with brass pulls spans the base, all resting on a molded plinth with rounded corner returns. This commanding piece combines elegant French neoclassical design with practical display and storage functions, making it suitable for a formal dining room, library, or grand living space. Glass shelf has a small carck and we were unable to tun on the interior light. 96 x 18 x 81"
