Part of $15 Million Great Falls Downsizing Mansion Online Auction (live auction by Prime Auction Solutions)

Status: No sale

A statement piece! 41"H Sculpture depicts a mounted jockey guiding a horse in a collected, trotting pose. Cast in a warm two-tone patinated bronze, the figure combines golden highlights on the rider’s jacket, boots and helmet with a richer brown on the horse’s body and saddle. Detailed modeling includes a braided mane, defined musculature, tack and reins, and a textured saddle cloth; the rider wears close-fitting breeches and tall riding boots. The composition is mounted to a rectangular dark marble base with a hammered-texture bronze ground. No artist signature is readily evident from supplied views. The piece demonstrates lifelike proportions and careful surface treatment typical of representational equestrian bronzes, suitable for display in a study, entry or collection of sporting art. Base: 30 x 10" Height: 41"H
