Exceptional Fine Persian Isfahan Wool & Silk “Asachi” Workshop Medallion Carpet, 8'10" x 12'7" A finely knotted Persian Isfahan carpet, woven in lustrous wool with a silk foundation and centered by a classic lobed medallion on a deep blue field within a broad beige floral border. Scrolling vinery, Shah-Abbas palmettes, and rosettes radiate across the field in a refined palette of navy, cream, gold, and soft red, the drawing crisp and symmetrical—hallmarks of the best Isfahan work. A signature cartouche identifies the respected Asachi lineage of weavers in Isfahan, whose signed pieces are actively sought by collectors. Isfahan carpets are celebrated for luxurious materials and exceptionally fine weaving—often with silk highlights and very dense knotting—traits that give the motifs a crisp, jewel-like clarity and the pile a velvety hand.
